The most breathtaking cliff road in Italy is just south of Naples along the west coast within the Gulf of Salerno and gets its name from one of the several summer villages along it called Amalfi. Popular pleasures here include great sea food meals served with the famous Lacrima Christi wine from the vineyards along Mount Vesuvius, road winds with spectacular views and fun beach hopping. Fron Naples on the way to the Amalfi Coast you can admire one of Italy's active volcano mount Vesuvius famous in the history records for the eruption of the year 79 A.D. burying the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum with over 20 feet of pumice and ash. The excavations of the 16th and 18th century reviled a city petrified in time, in some buildings paintings, sculpture and graffiti have survived and are still visible.
The Tour is 11/h usually it starts at 07:30AM . Your driver will meet you in the lobby or where you indicate. The drive to Pompeii is about 2,5/h, in the high season when in central Italy could be pretty worm we usually prefer to stop in Pompeii first thing in the morning, we recommend to have as arrange for you a private guide who will privately guide you for 2/h in the archeological site. From Pompeii we will drive for about 1,5/h along the cliff road of the Amalfi coast line in order to reach the summer village of Sorrento or Positano where you can wonder around shop and swim if you wish. For those that don't care much for tanning or swimming we can arrange a beautiful lunch right on the beach or up on a hill nearby where the view of the Gulf of Salerno and Positano it self is outstanding.
